Multiple Projects In Philadelphia Lead To A Thriving Community
The Philadelphia region has a very strong economy, one of the strongest in the U.S., and looks promising for not only 2015, but potentially far into the future. Luckily, the need for construction employees, in both real estate and transportation, is fueling the economy in this area. The need for highways, rail lines, and other means of transport are growing in the area.
The city has reopened discussions on renovating rail lines that run through the city of Philadelphia. The 52-foot wide tunnel called the "City Branch" line ran 15 city blocks for 92 years. The last ride for the railroad line was in 1992. Septa purchased the "City Branch" line a few years later. The railroad tunnel is still a convenient route to center city offices, the Philadelphia Zoo and other frequented stops on the line.
Although the plans are still being worked out, the ultimate goal would be to use the line for tourists visiting the Philadelphia Zoo, museums and a connection to the city subway system. it would bring even more construction work and tourism to the city in the coming years.
Septa is also working on the King of Prussia Rail project which is now in effect. They are investing $650 million into the project to bring more shoppers and stores to the already thriving mall community.
The Philadelphia region is one of the most thriving regions in the country due to the ongoing need for workers, materials and space for the growing rail lines in several parts of the city and suburbs. The benefits of these rail projects will ultimately bring more tourism and added retail growth to the area. Not only is this healthy for the region's present economy, but the outlook beyond 2015 looks promising as well.
