Longtime Texas Representative Sheila Jackson Lee dies at 74
Longtime Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee died at 74, her office announced Friday evening.
Her cause of death has not been released. Last month, Jackson Lee revealed she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was undergoing treatment.
Among her achievements, she was the lead sponsor of legislation to make Juneteenth a federal holiday.
