Our Janelle Burrell surprised Lydia McFarlane in class with a check for $10,000. McFarlane is the winner of this year's Trudy Haynes Scholarship, named after Philadelphia's first Black TV reporter. Haynes joined our station in 1965.
Local college students can apply for the $10,000 scholarship from now through Feb. 12, 2024.
