Carlos Ruiz had three hits and three RBIs and rookie Cesar Hernandez reached base four times, scored twice and drove in two runs as the Philadelphia Phillies rode a six-run first inning to a 10-5 win over the San Diego Padres on Thursday night.
Lee (13-6) allowed two runs and five hits, struck out nine and walked one. It was the second straight eight-inning outing and fourth in the last six starts for Lee, who pounded his glove and skipped toward the dugout after fanning Jedd Gyorko to end the eighth.
Phillies starter Tyler Cloyd (2-4) was not sharp in his first major league start in three weeks. The right-hander allowed seven runs and nine hits over four-plus innings. He struck out four and walked none.
