A winter wonderland has taken over Walnut Garden in Center City Philadelphia with Christmas lights, festive snacks and even a visit from Santa.
Some normally busy streets near Rittenhouse Square will temporarily be off-limits to cars. The Center City District will close 18th Street from Locust to Chestnut and Walnut Street from 15th to 19th for two Sundays next month. The seven blocks of city streets will be shut down for cars on Dec. 8 and 15.
The Center City District is bringing back car-free Open Streets: West Walnut for two Sundays in December after a successful launch.
A restaurant in Rittenhouse is closing at the end of the year. Devon Seafood Grill will end its 25-year run on New Year’s Day.
