Overnight, the heavy rain will continue to push north through New Jersey, with showers and storms also moving through Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs as a cold front moves through.
Some small stream and urban flooding is possible tonight in any slow moving showers and thunderstorms.
A stalled front will linger over our area Tuesday keeping the threat of showers, storms, and localized flooding, especially in the afternoon.
The combination of a strong disturbance and more sunshine will increase the chance of scattered, but locally strong to severe thunderstorms Thursday. We are in a "Slight Risk" for severe weather in Philadelphia and nearby suburbs, meaning that any thunderstorm could produce strong, damaging winds and the threat of hail.
It will certainly feel warmer and steamier, but we also have the threat for showers and thunderstorms around through the afternoon. But these are just an appetizer, so to speak.
Warm air stays in place Tuesday, but a frontal boundary will back into our area from the Northeast, bringing more clouds and a possible shower or storm.
