Officials say two cats died and a third one was injured in the blaze.
Everyone inside the home made it out OK.
No arrests have been made.
It happened just after 2:30 p.m. at 28th and West Oxford Streets.
Police say Timothy Robinson was driving under the influence when he struck Johnson and his mother on Monday.
