Behind the Song: Blake Shelton's 'Mine Would Be You'
Some songs can take a bit of time to really sink in and win over fans as well as the artists. That wasn't the case, though, with "Mine Would Be You," the No. 1 hit from Blake Shelton.
Some songs can take a bit of time to really sink in and win over fans as well as the artists. That wasn't the case, though, with "Mine Would Be You," the No. 1 hit from Blake Shelton.
The two artists will perform their duet "Medicine" live during the 49th annual ACM Awards this Sunday.
"Being told that you'll never win anything and accepting that in the beginning and then winning Duo of the Year it's like, 'What? What just happened?!' And then being nominated again, it's just amazing," Keifer Thompson said.

"I feel like women in my grandmother's generation were expected to put on a pretty face and not really show their crazy sides," Kacey Musgraves said, describing the ideas behind the three-time ACM-Award nominated song she cowrote with Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally. "Now, it's a bit different."
Additional performers have been announced for the two-day pre-ACM Awards event in Las Vegas. Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban are the previously announced headliners.

Haggard, Strait, Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum and The Band Perry are the first artists announced for an "All-Star Salute to the Troops" concert that will air in May on CBS.
Luke Bryan is going to be a busy guy this coming April 6. Between cohosting the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards that night, and being nominated in three different categories, Bryan already had plenty on his plate. Now, though, he's got one more task: performing that same evening via live remote as part of the fourth annual ACM Fan Jam.
Additional major nominees include Lee Brice, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan and Darius Rucker. And who are this year's Entertainer of the Year nominees?
Now he's taking the GRAMMY stage, and the thrill is obviously as fresh as ever.
"When we were about to pick the first single I really lobbied for 'Merry Go 'Round' because I'm out there every night and I can tell you, hands down this is the one people are connecting with. I'm really glad that was my first thing to say to the world."
The second annual Academy of Country Music event takes place in Las Vegas the weekend of the ACM Awards and also features Thomas Rhett, The Cadillac Three, Joe Nichols, Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young.
The 49th annual ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas on April 6, 2014. The program will be broadcast on CBS, and once again Bryan and Shelton will cohost the evening.
