Yuengling Offers Free Beer as Thank-You to Delaware Valley Fans

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Yuengling Brewery celebrates "National Drink Beer Day" with free beer tonight.
Dick Yuengling, president and owner of Yuengling Brewing Company, says the citywide toast will take place at 250 bars across Philadelphia, at precisely 6:30pm.
"We've been a very fortunate small brewery up in Pottsville, and the city of Philadelphia and the five-county market has been a big part of our success," he says.
He says it's a gesture to show appreciation for his customers.
"It's certainly a great thing to have the area take hold of our beer as their own beer," he tells KYW Newsradio. "They ask for a lager and they get Yeungeling Lager! So, it's just a thank you."
He says the free beer will be distributed at select bars, and then, "a salute to Philadelphia will be shown on Comcast Sports Network at 6:30; a toast to the consumers of the Philadelphia area. That's what it's all about."
