Your Guide To Philadelphia's 'Made In America' Festival

Summer is quickly coming to an end, and what better way to go out than with a bang! This Labor Day weekend, Jay-Z and Budweiser's Made In America Music Festival will take over Fairmount Park right here in Philadelphia. This exciting two day music festival is jam-packed, with 32 acts that will perform on four different stages on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Tickets:

Tickets for this event went on sale May 23rd. Prices for the festival range between $75 and $2,199; this includes Early Bird Single Day passes for $75, VIP or Platinum packages for $899, and Made in America Travel Packages (which include lodging and other perks) for $689 to $2,199. Everyone, regardless of age, needs a ticket in order to attend this concert. And be warned: There is NO re-entry if you leave the festival!

Be aware that there will be road closures. The Benjamin Franklin Parkway is scheduled for temporary closures Saturday morning, beginning at 8:00 AM with closure of the center lanes from 20th Street to the Binswanger Triangle. In addition, the outer Parkway lanes (East and West bound) will be closed from 2:00 PM through 5:00 PM, thereby shutting down the entire Parkway to vehicular traffic between 2:00 – 5:00 PM.

The Parkway will re-open to traffic at 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 25. At that time, a "gateway" structure will be in place above the roadway and present a head clearance of about 14 feet. This structure will be in place from 5:00 PM on August 25 through Monday, September 3, 2012.

Public Transportation:

Taking SEPTA to the concert might be your best bet. The organization suggests utilizing the subway/subway-elevated routes, the Broad Street and Market-Frankford lines, which have stops just a short walking distance from the concert site. Both lines connect with other SEPTA rail, bus and trolley service.

SEPTA will add trips on the Broad Street and Market-Frankford Lines throughout the event, with trains running every five-to-10 minutes before, during and after the performances. Additional service will also be available on the Norristown High Speed Line, which connects with the Market-Frankford Line at 69th Street Transportation Center and on city trolley routes. SEPTA says details on adjustments to bus service will be announced in the coming days.

Regional Rail lines will operate on regular weekend schedules on Sept. 1-2, but concert-goers who normally use Regional Rail are being urged to take advantage of the extra service that will run on the Broad Street Line and Market-Frankford Line.

SEPTA will also add service for several other Labor Day weekend events. On Friday, Aug. 31, extra trains will be added as needed on the Market-Frankford Line for the concert and fireworks at Penn's Landing. Also, trips will be added to the Broad Street Line prior to the Bruce Springsteen concerts at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday, Sept. 2 and Monday, Sept. 3. Extra Local trains will run every 10 minutes starting approximately one hour before these shows, which are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Other Important Info:

The festival will include free filtered water services onsite as well as a variety of food choices, from traditional festival and fair food to gourmet food trucks.

There will be plenty of ATM's around the festival site, as well as charging stations to keep the juice up on your phone.
