Young Phillies' Fan Hurt in San Francisco Hit-Run Transferred To Philadelphia Hospital
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A nine-year-old Bucks County boy who was critically injured by a hit-and-run driver after a Phillies game in San Francisco is now being treated at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Walter White says his grandson, Ryan, was transferred to CHOP on Monday and appears to be making progress.
"I remain hopeful. We still don't have details enough to let us be assured but we're confident that he is in the very best hands," White told KYW Newsradio today, "and we're looking for the medical profession to do all it can and as rapidly as they can to bring him back to full normalcy."
The boy reportedly suffered multiple fractures, a lacerated liver, and a brain injury after he was run over by an allegedly drunken driver (see previous story).
The suspect was later arrested and charged with hit-and-run, DUI, and driving with an open container of alcohol.
The accident happened as White and his family left AT&T Park nearly two weeks ago, after the Phils had defeated the Giants.
