You May Have Only One Chance To Save Your Heart

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It seems so simple -- a person experiences chest pain and they rush to the emergency room. The reason they rushed to the emergency room is because they know that every minute is precious when not enough blood is getting to the heart. But it doesn't always work out that way.

Many people are in denial. They don't want to admit to themselves they are having chest pain related to a heart attack. They think there's some other cause or they don't want to bother the physician.
Here is the reason why it's so important to go to the emergency room even if you are wrong and it's not a heart attack. You only get one chance to save the heart. When the heart muscle dies it doesn't come back.

Talk to people who have had massive heart attacks and survived. They are weaker. They become short of breath and their lives can be totally different than before.

Listen to your body. If you have concerns, get help.
