York County Man Accused Of Hiring Hit-man Now Accused Of Hiring Second Hit-man To Kill The First
YORK, Pa. (AP) — A central Pennsylvania man accused of having tried to hire someone to commit one murder is now accused of having tried to hire a second purported hit-man to kill the first one.
Forty-six-year-old Gregory Allen Hess of Seven Valleys was charged in York County in April with solicitation of criminal homicide and criminal use of a communication facility.
Prosecutors alleged that Hess paid a confidential informant $30,000 to kill a male acquaintance of his wife.
But authorities alleged Wednesday that after he was arrested and taken to county prison, he tried to hire another inmate to kill the first would-be hit-man.
Defense attorney Farley Holt challenged the credibility of the unnamed informant when he learned of the new charges, calling him a "career criminal."
