Wreaths Presented to Families of 3 Local Police Officers Killed During 2012

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The families of three fallen police officers from our area were presented with Christmas wreaths today during ceremonies in Old City, recognizing the sacrifices of those loved ones the past year.
The Patriot Guard Riders of Southeast Pennsylvania linked up with Maine state troopers leading the "Wreaths Across America" convoy into Old City, where the group made the presentations during solemn ceremonies at Christ Church, on North Second Street near Market.
Philadelphia Police chief inspector Joseph Sullivan says the group recognized "the widow of Officer Brad Fox, the widow of Officer (Brian) Lorenzo from the Philadelphia Police Department, the mother of Officer Moses Walker. And the families are truly touched and very appreciative of the fact that all this is being done to honor their fallen loved ones."
"They put themselves in between me and harm's way," says Karen Worcester of Columbia Falls, Maine, executive director of Wreaths Across America, "whether it's here as a police officer, a fireman, or overseas fighting for us."
The convoy also placed wreaths at Philadelphia's war memorials.
On Saturday they will be at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Bucks County for wreath-laying ceremonies, before heading to Arlington National Cemetery on Sunday.
