Worried About Travel During Wednesday's Snow? Hold Your Horses, One Airline Advises
By Mike DeNardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's a perfect storm: snow in the forecast for one of the busiest travel days of the year.
So... what's a traveler to do?
If the weather is making you nervous about flying on Wednesday and you want to change your flight, it's a bit too soon to say whether airlines would waive their change fees.
At American Airlines, spokeswoman Victoria Lupica says if there are any travel alerts for Philadelphia, the airline would likely post them in the next day or so.
"If you are calling today, for example, and you want to make a change to your reservation because of impending weather -- weather that hasn't been confirmed yet -- we're going to ask you to wait. But we certainly are keeping that in mind," she tells KYW Newsradio.
Lupica says any change-fee waivers would depend on conditions that developed.
For example, American is currently waiving change fees if you have tickets to snow-socked Buffalo, NY.
