World Trade Center Steel Comes To Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A piece of steel from the World Trade Center will make its way to Philadelphia on Saturday, where it will be on display for the next week.
The steel is set to arrive at 10:30 a.m. at the Philadelphia Fire Museum, located at 2nd and Quarry Streets in Old City.
Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers and other officials from the Philadelphia Fire Department will meet a traveling group of firefighters from Delaware and members from the Wounded Warrior Project.
This is just one of 22 stops the "Heart of Steel" will make as part of a tour made by Bikers for America's Bravest.
The group is raising money to build homes for severely wounded veterans.
The piece of steel will be on display at the museum until Saturday, September 14th, when it will be escorted to New York.
