Worker Killed In NJ Turnpike Construction Accident
BORDENTOWN, N.J. (CBS) -- A construction worker was killed Monday morning while working along Route 206 in Bordentown (Burlington County).
Authorities say the accident happened at about 8 a.m. on Route 206, near exit 7 of the New Jersey Turnpike.
The man was trapped under a section of concrete barrier and pronounced dead at the scene.
New Jersey state police indentified the victim as 51-year-old Carmen DiLuzio.
Authorities say DiLuzio was unloading the barrier, which was to be used as part of the turnpike widening project, in the construction zone near Exit 7. Once he loosened the nylon strap securing the barrier to the truck, it came loose and fell on top of him.

The victim was working for Tipton Trucking from Oxford, PA, which was contracted to deliver barriers to the construction site.
The New Jersey State Police Construction Unit, Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Troop C detectives are investigating this accident. OSHA has been notified and may also investigate the incident.
