Woods, Garcia Don't Connect, Garcia Leaves Note
ARDMORE, Pa. (AP/CBS) — That handshake between Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia might be their only meeting this week at the U.S. Open.
Woods says they greeted each other on the practice range at Merion on Monday but there was no time for an apology. Woods says the matter is done and it's time to play the U.S. Open.
Garcia did say he left a note for for Woods at his locker, but did not reveal what the note said. Garcia once again apologized for the comments he made at an awards dinner in England that he would have Woods over for dinner during the U.S. Open and "we will serve fried chicken." He said he hopes the situation is now over.
Garcia's manager says the Spaniard tried Monday to arrange a private meeting, but their schedules clashed.
Woods and Garcia are on opposite sides of the draw this week.
