Women Fighting Disrupt NJ Transit Bus And Assault Police Officer
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – Police arrested two women after they got into a physical altercation and assaulted a police officer on a NJ Transit Bus.
On July 29th around 5:06 p.m., Gloucester Township Police responded to Woodbury Turnersville Road at County House Road in Gloucester County after two females were reportedly fighting on a bus.
The two women, Linda A. Mason of Camden and Paige M. James of Williamstown, were actively fighting when an officer arrived. Mason was being held down in a seat and struggling with James.
The bus had been evacuated.
Police say both women then ignored orders to stop fighting and were pepper sprayed as a result.
During the tussle, both women attempted to continue fighting with each other while resisting arrest, striking the officer instead of one another.
Both women are now facing charges of simple assault, aggravated assault on an officer and disruption of transportation.
