Woman Struck, Killed By SEPTA Train In Chester County

THORNDALE, Pa. (CBS) – Authorities have confirmed that a woman who was reportedly attempting to cross the tracks was struck and killed by a SEPTA train in Chester County early Wednesday morning.
The deadly incident happened just south of the Thorndale commuter station along the Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail Line.
Police say the woman was most likely attempting to cross the SEPTA-Amtrak mainline tracks to catch a train when she was struck and killed by an approaching train.
As a result of the investigation, SEPTA suspended service between Thorndale and Malvern along the Regional Rail Line for several hours.
Train service resumed at the Thorndale station shortly before 8 a.m.
The deadly incident remains under investigation.
