Woman Struck, Injured By New Jersey Transit Train
PLAINFIELD, N.J. (AP) — A woman escaped serious injury when she was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in central New Jersey.
But authorities say it's still not clear why the woman was on the tracks.
NJ Transit officials say the accident occurred late Friday night in Plainfield.
The woman, whose name was not released, was struck by a Raritan-bound train around 11:40 p.m. She was treated at a hospital for minor injuries, but further details were not disclosed.
Roughly 100 passengers were aboard the train, but none of them were injured.
Trains service in the area was not affected by the accident.
