PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 20-year-old Philadelphia woman was sentenced today to 30-years-to-life for the murder of a World War II veteran three years ago.
India Spellman was found guilty in February of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 87-year-old George Greaves in August 2010 (see related story).
The Philadelphia district attorney's office says Spellman, who was 17 at the time, shot Greaves while he was doing yardwork at his home in the Cedarbrook section of the city (see related story).
Spellman and a 14-year-old accomplice were trying to rob the World War II veteran at the time (see related story).
The pair had also robbed a home health care aide on the same street just a couple of hours before the murder.
The accomplice, Von Combs, is now 17. He was found guilty of second-degree murder in juvenile court in 2011 (see related story).
