Mother Of Four Killed In Crossfire Of Overbrook Shooting
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a woman who ran a day care center was killed when she was caught in the crossfire of a shooting in West Philadelphia.
Police said 31-year-old Hafeezah Nur-Ridin was shot in the shoulder and back shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday in the Overbrook section of the city.
According to her aunt, Linda Fleming, Nuri-Ridin was a mother of four and ran a day care center on north 63rd Street. Her father lives at 5812 Malvern Avenue and where she was shot.
Authorities said Nur-Ridin was driven in a private car to Lankenau Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police said two men with guns were seen running from the area and remain at large.
Police said they do not know what the motive for the exchange of gunfire might have been.
