WOGL Car Show Delights Crowd, Raises Money For Charity

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - KYW Newsradio's sister station 98.1 WOGL held it's 11th annual Car Show in Northeast Philadelphia Saturday.
Hundreds of vehicles were on display throughout the day.
"I have a glass radiator hose in there so you can actually see the fluid going into the engine," says Steve Shatten of Milford, New Jersey, talking about his Red Mustang which was getting a lot of attention.
So was his wife Nichol's grabber blue Mustang parked right next to it.
"I call her the 'blue lion'," she says. "I have gone through and done some specialty touches to her. There is a lot of paint detail on this car."
Steve founded the Red Mustang Registry club two years ago. Today, it has 4,000 members.
"All you need to join is a red mustang," Steve says. "Doesn't have to be a specific shade, we take all mustangs as long as they are red."
Nichol adds she gets a little heat from time to time parking her blue mustang next to her husband's red one:
"Sometimes, but you know that when we are at shows a lot of people like mine better."
Many spectators came out to enjoy the free show. Among them was Harry from Bustleton, who lists some of his favorites:
"The hot rods and the antiques, like the Lincoln Continental, the Packard in the front, the Studebaker,"
Steve Neczypor of Delran, New Jersey was showing his muscle car -- a 1970 yellow Dodge Challenger and was really proud of what's under the hood.
"It's a 360 v8. This car was built with a 318 v8. Whoever made this into a hot rod put a different engine in it because it was just a plain Jane challenger when it was original."
Each car owner paid a registration fee.
Proceeds benefit Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
