Winter Weather Has Many Residents Of The Region Heading Points South And Warmer
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The ice and frigid cold temperatures has many people eager to escape to warm beaches and bathing suits.
With record temperatures in the forecast, many people at Philadelphia International Airport are happy to escape the ice and frigid cold.
"We are going to Florida and then picking up a cruise in the southern Caribbean and I may never come back," Eddy Axlier enthused.
She and her husband planned this trip more than a year ago. She says she can't wait to get away from the freezing weather in Philadelphia, "I am very excited to escape the cold."
Laila Williams says she and her kids are also headed south.
"We're going to Florida, Disney World."
The kids aren't as concerned about the weather, because they have other things to look forward to, "We're going to go on the rides tomorrow; going on roller coasters, and splashing ones!"
