Wilmington Man Arrested After Making Threats, Bringing Weapons To Delaware Park Casino
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Wilmington man was arrested after allegedly making threatening phone calls to the Delaware Park Casino, then showing up with a firearm in his vehicle.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. on Sunday, when casino security received a call from Brandon K. Buchanan, 28, of Wilmington. Staff says Buchanan demanded that the security officer remove one of Buchanan's relatives from the casino, then threatened to go to the casino with his assault rifle.
Around midnight, a Trooper found Buchanan in the parking lot of the casino, standing outside of his vehicle. The officer performed a pat down search of Buchanan and found a full magazine with about 20 rounds of ammunition in his pants pocket.
A search of Buchanan's vehicle also revealed he had brought a Hungarian AMD-65 7.62x39mm assault rifle, as well as 2.5 grams of marijuana and a pipe.
A subsequent search of the suspect's home was conducted, and police found a Century Arms 7.62mm assault rifle and additional 7.62mm, along with a Ruger 9mm semi-automatic handgun.
Buchanan was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangering and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony as well as drug charges.
