Wildwood Officials Set To Vote Tonight on Low-Riding Pants Law

WILDWOOD, N.J. (CBS) -- City commissioners in Wildwood, NJ are poised to vote this evening on an ordinance that, in effect, sets a dress code for the boardwalk.
Included is a provision prohibiting people from wearing their pants too low. And people come down on both sides of the issue.
Police ordering you to pull up your pants? Bemi McClain (top photo), who was in town with other young people for Senior Week, doesn't seem too thrilled with the concept.
"This was the style while I was growing up, so that's how I wear it," he tells KYW Newsradio.
But if the cops told him to pull them up?
"Yes, I will pull them up."
Which suits Dave Zahniser just fine.
"I know the difference between Atlantic City and here, where it's more of a family atmosphere," says the father of two. "So if it helps them maintain that family atmosphere, I think it would probably be a positive thing."
Since the idea was first floated a few weeks ago, the mayor's office says there have been calls about it from across the country.
