Who Deserves A Hollywood Film Lifetime And Career Achievement Award?
The "Hollywood Film Awards’" Lifetime Achievement Award and Career Achievement Award are a great honor, with past winners falling in the ranks of Hollywood’s most notable and timely entertainers.
When the awards show airs for the first time on Friday, Nov. 14 at 8:00PM ET/delayed PT, we’ll find out who’s been chosen as the next in line for these monumental awards.
Until then, here’s a look at some of the most notable winners of years’ past and who actually has a chance this year.
Past Winners
Lifetime Achievement Award
Kirk Douglass, 1997
The “Spartacus” actor was the very first honoree of the "Hollywood Film Awards," and if anyone deserved it, it was definitely him. Mastering film and the stage wasn’t enough, compelling the entertainer to become a film producer as well as an author.
Career Achievement
Harrison Ford, 2013
Known for his characters in films like “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones,” Ford remains a film staple all these years later. His work across a broad spectrum of films has ensured that the actor will be remembered for quite some time. It also doesn’t hurt that he’ll be reprising his role in the new “Star Wars” sequels.
Possible Contenders
Lifetime Achievement Award
Robert Redford
It’s actually a surprise the actor turned director-producer hasn’t already received an award from the "Hollywood Film Awards," but it’s never too late. Redford came to prominence in the 60’s before starring in “The Great Gatsby” and becoming a household name. Now, Redford is behind the camera, directing and producing but still leaving time for his other endeavors in business, environmentalism, philanthropy. Oh, and he founded a little thing called "The Sundance Film Festival."
Career Achievement Award
Meryl Streep
The woman is untouchable when it comes to being Hollywood gold and a go-to for worthwhile movies. Streep has done what very, very few actors have been able to accomplish: remain a poised, down-to-earth star who let’s her body of work speak for itself. Whether she’s Miranda Priestly in “The Devil Wears Prada” or a witch in the upcoming “Into the Woods,” Streep will always be our favorite leading lady.
