Whipped Bakeshop Makes Man-Friendly Cookies For Valentine's Day
By Hadas Kuznits
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --A Fishtown bakery is attempting to cater to the men this Valentine's Day.
Zoey Lukas, owner of Whipped Bakeshop in Fishtown, says they wanted to get the men in on the fun of Valentine's Day.
"So, we have a set of meat cookies, which includes three conversation hearts and then three pieces of meat," Lukas explains.
Not real meat, of course.
"There's a ham cookie, a cookie that looks like a strip of bacon, and one that looks like a t-bone steak. One says 'Meat Me,' one says 'Let's Pork'--a little pun on the ham--and one says 'Well Done.'"
How did they come up with the cookie designs?
"It's a little joke on the conversation hearts, and then the meat was just, it goes with the color red and pink and all that stuff, but it was just kind of funny.
We wanted to do something a little edgy and beefy," Lukas says.
The meat cookies are available by advance order only. Anyone interested should call the bakery and place an order for pick up.
