What's Cooking on 1060: Two Philadelphia Street Festivals on May 3rd

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS) -- This Saturday, May 3rd, seems to be festival day in Philadelphia.
The second annual South Street Spring Festival takes place this Saturday, May 3rd, along South Street, east of Eighth.
Michael Harris, executive director of the South Street Headhouse District (in top photo) has been planning for this big food and music event for most of the year.
"It's a chance for South Street itself to shut down between Front and 8th Street, and all the restaurants and bars will come out, people will be able to be out on the street eating and drinking and having a great day," he says.

What's Cooking on 1060
And the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival takes place all day Saturday on Walnut Street, near Rittenhouse Square, featuring the Rittenhouse Row restaurants.
Executive director Corie Moskow says food and shopping booths will be lining the streets all day for this pedestrian-friendly festival.

Moskow notes that the Rittenhouse Row area continues to grow.
"When I first started about ten years ago, our boundries stopped at JFK Boulevard, with the announcement of the Comcast Center being built. We now go all the way to the Parkway, to included the Four Seasons Hotel. We also go to South Street, and go from Broad all the way up to the (Schuylkill) river."

Meanwhile, in University City, chef Zama Tanaka of Zama (see related "What's Cooking" item) has opened his second Japanese restaurant, CoZara, at 3200 Chestnut Street, in University City.
"We don't have any sushi for CoZara," Tanaka notes. "We're doing all cooked food. And what 'CoZara' means is small plates -- like Japanese tapas."
