PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Looking for free cooking ingredients?
Tama Matsuoka Wong is a professional forager and author of Foraged Flavor. This Saturday she'll be leading a local foraging field trip in conjunction with Terrain Garden Café, in Glen Mills, Pa., to help folks identify and gather edible wild plants.
How did she get into foraging?
"I was not a very good gardener," Wong (top photo) admits, "so I had a lot of weeds. And I was trying to figure out, well, what can I do with what I have? So I started getting to know the plants that are growing naturally and are low-maintenance -- AKA weeds!"

Meanwhile, Ms. Goody Cupcake, 1838 East Passyunk Avenue, serves up "cake shakes" for summer! Ms. Goody Cupcake herself -- Gigi Andrew -- describes her latest treat:
"It's vanilla or chocolate ice cream and we make a milkshake, and we drop in one of our cupcakes -- any flavor cupcakes -- so you have a variety of all different flavors!"

And the ninth annual "Chefs for PAWS" dinner takes place on Monday, June 24th.
Dana Spain, founder and president of PAWS (the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society), says it has turned into a huge culinary event, being held for the first time this year at Lincoln Financial Field.
"You're assigned to a chef, or if you're a sponsor you get to choose your chef, and that chef prepares a three-course meal with wine pairings right in front of you, with an oven, finishing burners, prep tables. So you see the entire thing. It's a very intimate experience between the chef and the guests," she tells What's Cooking.
