What's Cooking on 1060: Cookies, Main Line Eateries, and No. 6 for McAndrews

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Melissa Torre, of Cookie Confidential, has launched her cookie truck in North Philadelphia.

"It's located on Temple University, on 12th Street south of Norris, right at the main campus," she notes.

Torre says they offer the same variety at the truck as they do at their South 5th Street store.

"We do your traditional flavors, but we also do a lot of really weird things.  We do a cheesesteak cookie, we do a raspberry balsamic, a garlic dolce de leche.  We we try and switch it up."

Main Line Restaurant Week takes place Monday, April 23rd, through Sunday, April 29th, and founder Sarah Lockard says reservations for that week at participating restaurants are going fast.

"We wanted this to be a true week, and were able to convince our restaurants that, yes, let's get more people in on the weekends," she explains.

And they're adding a new feature this year.

"This year is the first time we're doing lunch," Lockard tells KYW Newsradio.  "Our restaurants are doing lunch for $25 and under."

Meanwhile, chef Peter McAndrews opens his sixth restaurant on April 1st -- and his second within a month (see related story)!   The newest is called La Porta ("the door").

----

"It's in the country -- it's in Edgemont Township (Pennsylvania)," McAndrews says.  "It's not really the country -- it's about a half-hour outside the city.  But it's an old farmhouse that has a heck of a lot of doors.  Upon your arrival you are greeted by a huge oak door.  That's where the name came from."
