What's Cooking on 1060: Asian Fusion, Tiki Pop-Up, and Mt. Airy Night Market

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Jackson Fu says his new restaurant, Jane G's, is a family affair.

"Jane G is my mom," Fu (top photo) says.  "She has been in the restaurant industry ever since I was born."

This new restaurant is located at 1930 Chestnut Street, in center city Philadelphia.  Fu describes it as Asian fusion with an emphasis on Chinese.

"We like to push our tapas plates -- or dim sum, if you will -- and have everyone try a variety of different tastes, different dishes, without breaking the bank."

Also in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, Rum Bar celebrates National Rum Day on August 16th with a tiki-style pop-up.

"We're opening up as Duke's Surf Bar," says owner Adam Kanter (above).  "We're closing down Rum Bar for one day.  Fear not, we'll be back the following day!  We're going to be transforming the decor, the food, the drink, the staff -- it will be a 100-percent new place."

Also on August 16th, they'll be hosting a "night market" in Philadelphia's Mt. Airy neighborhood.

"It will be held right on Germantown Avenue, which is Mount Airy's main street, between Carpenter Lane and Mt. Airy Avenue.  We'll have between 45 and 50 beverage vendors," says Elizabeth Moselle (right) of Mt. Airy USA.
