What To Look For At Flyers Camp
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Believe it or not, hockey season has arrived.
The Flyers opened training camp on Thursday with 62 players on the roster as they prepare for the 2013-14 season.
Philadelphia is looking to get back into the postseason after missing the playoffs in 2013. The Flyers went 23-22-3 in the lockout-shortened season, only good for tenth in the conference.
The camp roster for the Flyers includes 34 forwards, 22 defensemen and six goalies. Goalie will be a position to keep an eye on with free agent acquisition Ray Emery and Steve Mason at the top of the depth chart.
The Flyers will work out at the Center through Saturday and then they will play their preseason opener on Sunday in London, Ontario, against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Flyers will also spend time this preseason working out in Lake Placid, New York, before setting up shop in Voorhees, New Jersey.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer as camp opened on Thursday to get his thoughts on what to look for over the next few weeks.
