West Chester Police Investigate First Murder Since 2007
WEST CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- Police say the death of a West Chester man is the first murder in the borough in four years and authorities are still looking for who did it.
Augusto Rivera was found in his apartment on Monday, after cops got a call from a friend concerned that he hadn't been in touch.
"It was readily apparent that the cause was not natural, nor was it heat related," said West Chester Police Chief Scott Bohn, who feels the 86-year-old was strangled or otherwise suffocated.

Detectives are looking into whether anything was stolen from Rivera's place along the 200 block of South Matlack Street.
Bohn says there hasn't been a homicide in West Chester since 2007, and that was drug related.
"We haven't ruled anything out. But I would suggest to you that I don't believe the crime was random. I think he was the intended target. We're looking at all these variables right now," said Bohn of Rivera's death.
