By Bill Wine
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The weekend's three new titles joined the winners of the last two multiplex weekends among the nation's top five at the box office.
The new kids' science fiction thriller, Ender's Game, took the top spot, debuting with an estimated $28-million.
Last weekend's winner, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, dropped to second with $21-million.
Third was the new sexagenarian comedy, Last Vegas, with $17-million.
In fourth place was the new animated Thanksgiving comedy, Free Birds, with a total of $16-million.
And the sci-fi hit, Gravity, rounded out the top five with $13-million, which took its cumulative total close to the $220-million mark.
Overall, industry-wide totals were slightly below those of a year ago even though five movies topped the $10-million mark for the weekend, the first time that's happened since August.
