Wednesday's Child: Wafiq
By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — "Creative" doesn't even begin to describe Wafiq. At just 14 years old, he taught himself to play the drums.
"I remember going to Guitar Center and I picked up a set of drum sticks. I thought I knew a beat -- it sounded good, though," he said recently.
Wafiq's social worker, Daniel Sianozecki, says Wafiq needs a permanent family who can help him reach his goals.
"Wafiq did mention that he was interested in producing music -- that aspect of creating music -- but also recording."
More than anything, Wafiq says he wants a shoulder to lean on -- someone who will listen.
Listen to what?
"Anything really, anything that's on my mind. I never really had something like that."
