Wednesday's Child: Taishyna

By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Taishyna loves painting and drawing:  "I like to do arts and crafts."

She uses her talents to make personalized greeting cards for people close to her.

"For my family, an I-miss-you card, (with) stickers and glitter."

And this 11-year-old wants to do something very special and meaningful when she grows up:  "Be a foster mom to help kids."

Taishyna says her experiences in the adoption system inspired her to want to be like one of her favorite people:  "My aunt Laura.  She's really good at foster care.  She helped to take care of me."

Her social worker, Kia Medley-Stephens, says Taishyna would do well in a loving home with lots of younger children.

"She loves to help out, and help out with younger kids," notes Medley-Stephens, "so I think she would be great with a family that has younger kids in the home.  Because she's very, very helpful."
