Wednesday's Child: Ruby
By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Ruby can be quiet at first, but behind that shy exterior is a young girl bursting with talent.
This young musician is in her first year at a performing arts high school. She gave us some tips for playing the violin.
"You have to hold it under your chin, put it in a certain position, you have to know how to hold the bow..."
She's very focused; she wants to go to college and maybe even become a doctor.
"I would like to be around lots of kids or elderly," she says.
Ruby's social worker, Carly King, says Ruby needs a loving family.
"Ruby is open-minded," says King. "She is a Puertoricana young lady and she is very interested in maintaining her culture. She's bilingual, she likes the music, she likes everything. And a family that would support her in retaining her own culture would be ideal."
And she'd love a home with siblings.
