Wednesday's Child: Jasmine

By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Jasmine is not shy about her strengths.

"Like, I'm awesome," she says. "I'm just cool, that's just me, that's just how I am. It's because I'm cool, I'm awesome -- swag, that's just everything. People think I'm awesome, so that's just how I am."

This 18-year-old wants to play professional basketball some day.  But she might also have a career as a chef.

"I make some bangin' food," she says.  "When I mean bangin', I mean good bangin' food. Like, I cook fried chicken, broccoli, maybe some empanadas -- stuff like that."

And she says she'd love to cook for a permanent family one day -- especially an active family with lots of siblings.

"(With) brothers. Because I like to play video games, so I'd rather have brothers to live with.  I don't do girly stuff.  I'd just like a family that could really care about me, sit down and talk to me."
