Wednesday's Child: Imani
By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) —- Imani might be your average 17-year-old.
"Yeah, I like music, I like to dance, I like doing my makeup," she admits.
But she's also an animal lover, and has big plans for her future.
"I want to be a veterinarian," she tells us.
And her inspiration is a bit unusual.
"One weird one: I like goats. It's part of being a Capricorn. I read that a Capricorn as an animal is a goat. So, I went to a farm one day, I saw the goats, and I just fell in love with them. It's weird, but it just happened."
To reach her career goals and her life goals, Imani's social worker, Tamara Reddick, says she needs a strong, stable family.
"At 17, she knows she has her whole life ahead of her. She can see where her path could be, and she knows she needs support."
