Wednesday's Child: Desmond
By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Eight-year-old Desmond loves solving problems. At school, he likes math; at home, it's all about puzzles.
(Demond:) "I have a 3D one."
(Larry Kane): "I imagine that's very exciting."
(Desmond:) "Yeah, but it didn't take that long. I did it fast."
Desmond's his social worker, Carol Alexander, says it's no puzzle what kind of family Desmond needs.
"A family that's active. A family that can advocate for him. You know, just good-hearted," she tells KYW Newsradio.
Gloria Hochman of the National Adoption Center, based in Philadelphia, says Desmond needs a family who will love him forever.
"He told me, 'I want a family that will be nice to me. I want a family that will take good care of me.' He's a terrific kid who loves to be around people. He's very engaging. And he's eight years old. An eight-year-old child needs a family," Hochman says.
