Wednesday's Child: Antanaya

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- For a 17-year-old, Antanaya has no problem opening up about her emotions, evident in the very personal story she told us about why she wants to be a nurse:
"I love helping people because, since I've been living with my grandma for a long time, I helped my grandpop before he passed. And it was, like, really hard and tough for him. But I like to help other people, too -- a lot of people. I just like helping people."
Antanaya also loves dancing and writing poetry to express her feelings. And she has a very specific vision of her "forever" family.
"I would like a family that has one or two mothers, that has kids that are my age, pets. And, I would like a family that cares for me -- a family that loves me for who I am, not who I want to be," she says.
Most important for Antanaya, says Gloria Hochman of the National Adoption Center, based in Philadelphia, is a support system.
"Antanaya, who is 17, really wants a family and would really benefit from having a family that would be there for her," Hochman tells KYW Newsradio. "She needs a family that will support her in the ambitions that she has."
