Weather: Sunshine Returns Tuesday

By Kate Bilo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Today stayed cool and cloudy but the showers mainly missed us to the west, so at least we didn't need to break out the rain gear. The next four days will be evenly divided between lovely and... not so lovely.

Sunshine returns tomorrow, and temperatures will approach the 70 mark. Although it will turn a bit breezy, still a pleasant spring day. Wednesday is even nicer, with a high up to 73 and lots of sun!

But then we're watching a developing coastal low for Thursday and Friday. A cool pocket of air aloft will dominate our pattern, and a strengthening system offshore means the winds will pick up and bring clouds in from the Atlantic. Expect Thursday and Friday to trend below average again, with clouds and occasional showers. Even though the brunt of that coastal system stays offshore, a northeast wind off the cool ocean doesn't make for a nice day around here this time of year!

The good news is that the system gets spirited away quickly by the weekend, so we can expect warmer temperatures and more sunshine - well into the 70's again by Sunday for the Broad Street Run!
