Weather: Rain Clears Out, Takes Humidity With It

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia got some much needed rain last night, and then some!
4.76" fell at the airport, easily surpassing the old daily record of 1.59" set back in 1909. Many other places saw large amounts as well, anywhere from 1-3".
Yesterday's deluge put much of the region back on track in terms of the precipitation deficit of the last month and a half. Another big change in the weather is the change in temperature and humidity. Thursday, albeit normal for this time of year, highs averaged about 10 cooler than they were on Wednesday. Humidity levels have now begun to follow suit, and Friday will feel much more pleasant, especially once the sun returns. Skies are cloudy now, but the clouds will slowly give way to sunshine from west to east over the next several hours.
The weekend won't be the best for outdoor activities, but certainly not a washout. Saturday will be the better of the two, with early sun giving way to clouds in the afternoon, and perhaps yielding a shower or thunderstorm as well. Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with scattered showers around for much of the day. Highs in the low 80s on Saturday will fall below normal on Sunday, only reaching the mid to upper 70s.
