Weather Blog: Too Cold, Too Soon

By Carol Erickson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The expected Arctic blast blowing through the area Sunday will keep it feeling below freezing all day and night.

These cold temperatures moderate slightly on Monday, but temperatures rise only to the upper 30's. The difference in feel shows up in diminishing winds. Then that coastal storm with the worst possible timing, pre-holiday rush, pokes into the area.

Though one model sends the system out to sea after some rain, another shows even more rain and the chance of a brief wintry start on Tuesday in some areas and a snow shower finish on Wednesday. The track and the intensity are still in question, so pinpointing with certainty will have to come later.

But travelers through the Delaware Valley should plan for times of heavier rain with a chance of a touch of more wintry weather to start or finish in a few spots before Thanksgiving.

Remember, details will continue to evolve and the ultimate forecast is subject to change, so we'll keep you updated.
