Weather: All Eyes On Papal Visit Weekend

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Papal Ponchos?
The weather is calm for now, but all eyes are looking forward to the weekend as Pope Francis' U.S. voyage concludes in the city of Brotherly Love.
Let's start with Friday. Early sun will give way to clouds, especially to the south of the city. The further north you go, the clearer your skies will be, and that will be the general trend over the next few days -- if you are looking for an urban escape this weekend, the Poconos will be a great spot to do it. The clouds are a result of a large area of low pressure to the south, which will be creeping north through the weekend. As it does, it will be head-butting an area of high pressure moving down from the north, with Philadelphia smack dab in the middle of this squeeze play. The high will win out on Saturday, as clouds may even yield to some intervals of sunshine later in the day. It will be cooler and breezy though; as the high and low move closer together, the pressure gradient will tighten and that will kick up the winds, especially closer to the coast.
Sunday is (and always has been) the day with the most uncertainty. It will be a mostly cloudy and breezy day, with the northern fringe of low's precipitation continuing to creep closer towards the Delaware Valley. Despite the outlook trending in a positive direction, we've remained steadfast in allowing for the chance of rain. Fortunately for Pope-goers, the greatest threat for any rain will be later in the day, as the Papal festivities are winding up. Still, it is best to air on the side of caution and be prepared to cope with any wet weather that may impact the day.
