Weather: A Mild, Wet Run-Up To Christmas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Only a few days left until Christmas, and while precipitation will be falling leading up to the big day, it isn't going to be the white stuff.
Rain is expected in the Delaware Valley this week, starting as showers for later Monday and Tuesday and culminating with some fairly significant rain on Christmas Eve Wednesday. Unlike Thanksgiving Eve, the threat for snow will not be an issue for anywhere around here.
On a positive note, temperatures will be rising each day through the midweek. Monday started off on the chilly side and highs near 40 are expected by the afternoon. Increase that by about 10 degrees for Tuesday and yet another 10 degrees on Wednesday, and you'd think you were taking a trip through the decades.
Despite winter just underway, December 24th will feel more like early April! Nevertheless, the Easter Bunny will have to wait his turn. The big man in red will need to brave the rain and wind to deliver his presents once he arrives in the northeast.
Although a stiff breeze will stick around on Thursday, Christmas Day itself will be quiet. Other than an early morning shower, clouds will depart and partly sunny skies are expected by the afternoon.
