Weather: A Cool Finish To The Week
By Justin Drabick
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you are a fan of cooler and less humid conditions you will enjoy the forecast into the holiday weekend. A cool and dry Northwest wind today kept afternoon temperatures in the 60s with very low humidity. More clouds will increase tonight as a storm system will track into the mid-Atlantic. Thursday will be a dreary day with cloudy skies and some showers in the afternoon, especially south and east of the city. A steadier rain is possible across southern NJ and Delaware. The clouds and rain will keep temperatures well below average in the 50s and 60s.
The storm will exit the region Thursday night, allowing for sunshine to return for Friday. Highs on the Friday will be near average in the mid 70s with continued low humidity. The dry trend will then continue into the holiday weekend with a dry cold front moving through Friday night. Behind the front, another shot of cooler air will return for Saturday with highs around 70 degrees under sunny skies.
The second half of the holiday weekend will be warmer with highs back into the upper 70s on Sunday. Expect some more clouds and humidity on Memorial Day with a shower or thunderstorm possible with highs well above average in the mid 80s.
Temperatures at the shore this weekend will be in the 60s on Saturday, low 70s on Sunday and mid 70s on Memorial Day. Ocean water temperatures are around 60 degrees.
