Weather: A Carbon Copy Of Wednesday
By Geoff Bansen
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Thursday will be a cool, damp, dreary day. For those of you who might be curious, yes, that is exactly how I began yesterday's blog.
The truth of the matter is, today will be a carbon copy of Wednesday. Cloudy, misty, chilly weather; in other words, not nice! There will also be patchy fog early this morning, and even some freezing drizzle up in the Poconos at higher elevations. Afternoon highs will again run 10 to 15 degrees below normal. But big changes are on the way.
Showers move in Thursday night as a warm front pushes through the region. As it does, the onshore flow that brought the gloomy temperatures during the midweek will shift to a southwesterly flow. Despite clouds and showers, highs on Friday will soar well into the 70s as a result. Be on the lookout for some thunderstorms later in the day as well, associated with the accompanying cold front. This front is a blessing in disguise, as it will clear everything out…just in time for the weekend!
